Having grown up in the rural farming community of Marotiri, west of Taupō, Gerry was educated in Waikato & Waitaha. After earning a bachelor degree in Forestry Science, he travelled the globe. The experience gained from travelling, paired with his upbringing sparked a strong awareness for the environment, and our place in it. He is passionate about integrating nature with business; helping land managers achieve their visions, while keeping Papatūānuku and community at the forefront.
Gerry’s degree in Forestry Science is complemented by over 20 years of experience working across every element of forest management, from establishment, to harvesting and marketing. When combined with his farming background, his perspective brings a strategic, long-term approach to land management, helping to create landscapes that will thrive for generations to come.
Outside of work, Gerry likes to relax with whānau and friends. He enjoys camping, hiking & biking in Aotearoa’s beautiful natural environment.

Chris gained an appreciation for the wild places early in life, growing up in the small town of Lake Tekapo before moving to Wellington. He has held a lifelong passion for growing trees, and for many years has enjoyed maintaining a small-scale tree nursery to raise seedlings for family and friends. This interest led Chris to studying Forestry Science, with a view to working in forest restoration and sustainable land management globally.
Chris has since worked in the forestry and environmental space both locally and in Australia, from afforestation projects to managing the marketing of forest products on a large scale. He believes that forests can benefit the environment through different avenues, and alongside establishing thriving native forests, has led the establishment of biomass supply chains and managed carbon strategy for multiple large-scale forest owners.
When he’s not working, Chris will be exploring the southern alps, mountain biking, and spending time with friends. He’s planning future adventures to work in community forest restoration projects throughout South America and takes a lot of joy from the planning process of this.
